The Date Palm tree is mentioned many times in the bible and is a symbol of peace, fertility, and victory. It is a staple food in Judaean dessert, and the symbol of the Kingdom of Judah.
The Date fruit is edible, and sweet - so sweet it is powdered into "Date sugar".
Because of its natural sweetness, it can be stored for long periods of time.
The
trunk is used in wood working and comparable to coco lumber.
The sap from young fruit bunch is processed into wine (similar to tuba).
The leaves are used to make baskets, and other woven materials.
Leaves are also used in cultural / religious festivities.
And oh, Date is also mentioned in Quran.
