Chico Grafted Seedling (Ponderosa variety)
‘Ponderosa’ chico has upright, pyramidal and symmetrical growth habit. The fruit is large and oblong-ovate that weighs an average of 348 g per fruit. The skin is thin and light brown with splashes of red especially on the side exposed to the sun. The flesh is smooth with melting taste, very juicy and very sweet. It is propagated by marcotting and cleft grafting. It is a shy bearer when isolated, interplanting with other varieties is recommended.
Bears fruits in 2-3 years.
